Are you looking for an AI chatbot for your website? While the “best” choice will depend on your business needs and budget, we’ll help you compare two options that offer lots of functionality right out of the box: HubSpot’s Breeze Customer Agent and Awesome AI.
Both AI chatbots are built with the latest models from OpenAI (the same technology that drives ChatGPT), so they’re similar. However, they have a couple of key differences you should be aware of to make the most informed decision about which bot would best serve your customers and website visitors.
We’ll dive into each tool’s:
But before we get too nerdy, let’s get on the same page about what AI bots are (and what they’re not).
With a traditional chatbot, the human makes the rules. In other words, every response and action is predetermined and preprogrammed into the chatbot's logic.
For instance, here’s a screenshot of a rules-based traditional chatbot in HubSpot.
An AI chatbot, on the other hand, is a form of an AI agent: an autonomous entity that completes actions to achieve a goal. An AI chatbot doesn’t need you to hand it a script. It uses generative AI to interpret a customer’s question, pulls the answer from its “knowledge” or training data, and offers your website visitor an informed answer.
Traditional chatbots give you more control (you, the human, dictate the answer to every customer question). But they can’t problem-solve or attempt to answer any question you haven’t anticipated. AI chatbots are way faster to train since you (the human) don’t need to pre-program every possible customer question and response. And, they can answer any question your customer has as long as your library of training data has an answer.
So, how can you get started and have AI answer your customer’s questions for you? We’ll get into a quick overview of two tools that could help you get started in seconds (yes, really).
Both Breeze Customer Agent and Awesome AI are insanely easy to set up. You’ve already got all the skills you need (no code required)!
If you already have a connected HubSpot website or knowledge base, you can edit which content you want your agent to learn and reference in just a few clicks.
Training this agent is as simple as dropping a URL into the “Brain” of the tool. You can choose specific pages or use an entire website as training data.
You don’t need technical expertise to train these AI agents (good news for marketing and sales). After feeding it a few content samples, you’ll be ready to go live before your lunch break.
Both agents are customizable, but there are limits to how creative you can get with brand voice and tone. Read on…
You can customize your agent by giving it a name (Luma, in the example below), role, and unique avatar. You can even set a personality, although you’re limited to generic dispositions like friendly, professional, casual, empathetic, and witty. You can only select one type from the dropdown list, so while you can customize the knowledge to understand the ins and outs of your business, your HubSpot Agent’s personality could be the same cookie-cutter replica of another business’ agent. And if marketing is about standing out and being memorable…do you want to sound just like someone else?
This is where Awesome AI shines. You get 1800 characters to set your agent’s one-of-a-kind personality. That’s a full page’s worth of traits to shape your agent to your brand voice and tone. There won’t be another like it on the web!
You have an additional 1800 characters to give your agent specific instructions, like when to hand off to a team member, topics to avoid, and more.
You can also set your response length and how creative you want your agent to be. Is your agent extra like Ace Ventura or reserved like Milton from Office Space? Or somewhere in between? You pick.
Both agents are compatible with any website platform, but there are a couple of details to be aware of.
Breeze’s Customer Agent works with all website platforms through the HubSpot live chat feature. So long as you’ve installed the HubSpot tracking code, you should be able to use HubSpot’s live chat and assign your agent to a channel.
Your Awesome AI agent should work on any website platform, so long as you can insert a JavaScript tag into the page. Just remember to add the website domain under settings in the Embed tab so your bot doesn’t shortcircuit. :)
TLDR: HubSpot can be expensive.
Breeze Customer Agent is only included in Service Hub Pro and Enterprise, starting at $100/month/seat, so that racks up quickly for a small team ($300 for a team of 3).
Awesome AI’s Starter plan is $99/month, so they’re comparable if you have only one user. Once you add team members, though, you’ll save a good chunk of change compared to Breeze. The Pro plan is only $200 and lets you add up to 5 seats.
What’s measured gets managed, right? Yes, both agents have options to track performance and overall success so you can fine-tune and improve their responses.
Breeze has a cool visual dashboard to give you a high-level overview of your agent’s performance over time.
The knowledge gaps section is especially insightful if you want to add training data to help resolve future customer questions.
Awesome AI also has Core Vitals under "Pulse" like Engagement and Quality score. You can filter these by period, from “all-time” to the last 24 hours.
Engagement score is the percentage of page visitors that ask your agent a question, so if 10 people visit your site and only 7 interact with it, the engagement is 70%.
The quality score compares how well website visitors rate your AI to how many responses they rated overall, and it’s calculated like this:
Where ratingDiff is the number of positively rated responses minus the number of negative ratings.
For example, if my AI had three positive and one negative rating out of six total responses, my quality score would be 58.3%.
You didn’t think you’d be doing math today, did you? 🤓
You can also see thumbs-up or thumbs-down reactions to individual responses in Q&A Insights under the Brain tab, which is helpful at a granular level.
Which agent is right for you? If you’re already paying for HubSpot’s service hub pro or above, you’ll get the most bang for your buck with HubSpot’s built-in agent. Just keep in mind you’re missing out on some of the customizability that Awesome AI can offer to stand out in the competitive marketplace.
And if you’ve not already bought into Service Hub Pro and need an agent that will embody your brand voice and tone to service your website prospects and customers, Awesome AI can help you get started in seconds without the huge price tag.
Why not try it today?
